There are many ways that you can follow the lead of Martin Luther King Jr. and give back to the community this weekend. For example, the National Park Service, Potomac Conservancy, and Friends of Mount Vernon Trail are each seeking volunteers to help clean up litter and remove invasive species. So Others Might Eat and Thrive DC need help to distribute coats and meals to people in need, while Horton’s Kids and Humane Rescue Alliance are asking community members to donate much-needed supplies. Of course, one simple way to give back this weekend is by checking on the well-being of your friends and neighbors, especially those of advanced age.<\/p>\n
